Mrs. Rodgers kindergarten class at Cotter Elementary School gave Barney and I a lovely gift on our last visitation day of the school year. We have been going once a week for the children to read to Barney. Mrs. Rodgers tells me the children eagerly look for books to read. Each child in the class wrote a note to him for coming to their class. The gift basket had a candle for me, jerky strips, Dentastix and a picture colored by one of the children. I watched during the year as the children’s reading improved. They went from three word sentences to more complicated books. Barney made reading fun, and the children proudly wore the I read to Barney today! stickers they earned. ~ Lynda Dudek
