derbyJoJo attended the Ozarks Mischief Barn Hunt in Springfield this past weekend, June 4 & 5 and she completed her Rat Instinct the first time in, along with her Rat Novice title. We missed the first try because I “bowled” her in trying to get a tunnel, so handler error on that one. She took a fourth place Saturday afternoon in Trial Two, then took a First Place Sunday morning in Trial One. We had to leave early so I haven’t seen the results for Sunday afternoon, but I do know from the judge that we qualified and finished our title. We had a wonderful time, and JoJo, who is almost ten, and has a complete knee replacement was the happiest dog in the world to be out and competing once again. It was wonderful. ~ Janice Johnson

At the MASCUSA agility trial in Tulsa, Derby earned his Open Standard title. So, he is now running in Excellent Standard. We were close in JWW, but dropped one bar each run, so no qualifiers. I’m sure handler error had something to do with the dropped bars. Both of his Open Standard runs were for first place. He was running well and “in the game.” I’m so happy to see him wanting to run with me and finish. It felt great. ~ Janice Johnson

pagePage is now working hard as a Mercy Hospital Therapy Dog. She has helped many people in need of Golden Love every week, and all of the employees know her by name. She has matured into a loving, responsible therapy dog who brings joy to patients and visitors every week. She works at many other locations, but Mercy Hospital now seems to be her favorite “home away from home.” ~ Janice Johnson
