The Norma Smith’s Handling Seminar “Learn to Show Dogs Like a Professional” that was held July 9 & 10th, 2016 was a huge success. Thank you all who attended in the working slots and the auditors/observers. For those who didn’t make it, the next time she holds one where you can attend, do so, you won’t be sorry. It doesn’t matter how long you have been in the ring, I am sure she has a trick you can use!
Norma was pleasant, easy to talk with, and she tailored her answers to your problem and issue in the show ring for that particular dog, or general problem for each and every person. She had many pro-handler tricks she shared with us, encouraged the newcomers to the sport. Harvey, if you are reading this, I would like to say we are proud of you as a retiree are joining the owner handlers in the ring with your young Labrador Retriever. And as new as you are to the sport that you are eager to learn what you can to do a good job! Norma was full of stories from her 42 years as a professional handler before retirement with an impressive 350 Best In Shows experience. She kept us focused, each group had a lot of ring time, plus questions were asked and answered in a timely manner!
I want to thank Sherry Gibbany and Barb Allen for their help. Sherry drove over the equipment, had the building ready the previous day for our seminar, ran and got the lunches both days, did clean-ups and errands! Barb thank you for greeting people, helping with the coffee and lunches & snacks, and doing the registration check-in.
